I loved "Blue Eyed Samurai," agree whole-heartedly re: the characters and I'm a big fan of that visual aesthetic (somewhere between hand-drawn and CGI). Not to mention the lack of decent samurai content lately. I thought there were several strong examples of powerful women throughout, with only one of them being an absolute warrior badass.
I think trying for a book a month was a worthy goal. All the big name authors in my genre do it. And yet, I don't--nay, can't--read their stuff. Maybe I'm a book snob, but it feels mass-produced.
Here's to doing the least a dedicated artist can do, and more. Keep up the fantastic work!
